This promotional item was created by Screenmakers and designed by Zoo for Old Parliament House.
It featured a mirrored surface which would reflect the face of the person looking into it. The mirrors were wall-mounted at an exhibition.
The material used for the promotional display was a mirror dibond - which was digitally direct printed using our [Digital Flatbed UV] printer.
It can be difficult to print on to mirrored surfaces as many flatbed printers use an ultraviolet lamp to quickly dry the freshly printed material. This technique, when used on a highly reflective surface, can reflect the bright ultraviolet light back into the print head and clog the printer before the ink can be deployed. Fortunately, the equipment used at Screenmakers can accommodate for this situation and print on to the mirror without damaging the mirror or the printer.
