ANU School of Music

A unique architectural graphics project for the ANU was the decorating of the glazed panels of the foyer at the School of Music.

The project entailed a total area of glass measuring approx. 20m wide by 9m high with a glazed roof 5m deep. The glazing encompasses the full front of the building. The artworks were reproduced using Avery High Performance Frosted & Solid Black Vinyl computer-cut graphics. Alignment was obviously critical when considering that over 90 panels on the front and about 24 roof panels all had to line up with each other. The appropriate contrast between the black and frosted vinyl during the day and also at night was a major requirement.

The design allows for some fantastic shadows being formed at night when the lights are on and the image projects into the forecourt entry area.
