Stromlo Forest Park is a multi-use recreational facility featuring purpose built cross country, downhill and Mountain Cross Mountain Biking trails as well as a cross country running circuit, criterium road cycling circuit, equestrian trails, walking trails and much more.
The signage installed at Stromlo Forest Park was designed by the Swell Design Group on behalf of Territory Venues and Events and produced by Screenmakers.
In order to assist users negotiate the trails at the park, Screenmakers installed numerous colour coded blade signs (depending on the type of activity featured). The signs were each produced from channeled aluminium frames with 3mm aluminium panels. The artwork was printed digitally onto adhesive vinyl. Following this, a heavy duty transparent protective surface over laminate was applied in order to protect the signs from potential damage from stone chips and the other activities taking place at the park.
In June 2009, Screenmakers installed a series of trail identification blade signs. These signs were installed at the "trail head" of the park - allowing visitors to examine the trails available and determine which of them is appropriate to their individual skill level. Resembling a modern day mountain biking "Stonehenge", these trail information signs provide valuable details to allow safer use of the venue.
