The Airliner Bus operates every 30 minutes and provides a great-value option for travelling between Canberra International Airport and to and from the City, Russell, Brand Depot and Brindabella Park.
Canberra Airport’s design team created the concept and design for the Airliner bus stop sign. It had to be lightweight but sturdy and contain removable holders for timetables.
The sign was made from a lightweight aluminium fully welded frame, router-cut with internal sections to hold the supporting post that goes though the centre.
The graphic was pre-cut to the right shape then digital flatbed printed in the airport colours. The aluminium panel was printed on dibond that was pre-cut with a section for the timetable, and fold marks to enable wrapping. Once the sign was wrapped, it was adhesive fixed to the frame and clear-coated to protect from vandalism.
At the back of the recessed area is a magnetic panel so the timetable can be attached with magnets and easily removed for updating. A polycarbon cover provides protection, and was fixed in place with tamperproof screws. The sign was installed on a concrete footpath with a base plate that folds out from inside.
